Substance Use Counseling

Do I have a problem?

Are you using alcohol or other drugs more than 3-5 times

a week on a regular basis?

Do you feel dependent on alcohol or other drugs?

Do you feel you need to use more substances to get the same effect?

Have family and friends shared that you might have a problem?

Have you had a hard time meeting obligations and work responsibilities because you are either too hungover, too high or too tired?

If you answered yes or can relate to any of these questions, it may be time to get help for your substance/addiction issues.  Individual therapy is a great start on getting the help you deserve.   Individual therapy may not be all that is in needed in some cases.  Judy offers a non-judgmental approach and offers online telehealth sessions.

My family threatened to kick me out if I don't get help.

Are you ready to get help will be one of my first questions.  I provide a safe space for you to share where and how your addiction/substance use became an issue and how we can set up a plan for you to get clean and sober.  I will also ask about your usage.  It is important that you are ready to be truthful, honest and start to care about yourself.  Your family may participate in therapy if you want them to.

If they are over the age of 18 they will also sign an informed consent form as well.

I relapsed can you help?

Yes, therapy can always help in any situation.  I have extensive experience in substance use.  I have worked in 2 treatment facilities, 1 outpatient facility and have worked for the State and Federal prison system where addiction was a primary diagnosis.   If after our first few sessions, you still need additional help, I would help guide you into the right place.

Is substance use therapy expensive?

Therapy is an investment.  If you have insurance, most plans cover individual therapy.  Check my Rates page to see if I take your insurance or if self pay is an option for you.  If you are in need of more intensive therapy such as outpatient or inpatient plans vary and its best to call your insurance company.
